LMHSA 2005 - MILWAUKEE RENDEZVOUS A GREAT SUCCESS!

The secret is out!  LMHSA knows how to have a GREAT time.  If you missed it, don’t let it happen again.  This
event included new friends, old friends, learning, sharing, good food, sailing and just plain fun that was had by all!
We had the largest turnout in 13 years with 23 Hunter sailboats represented. The Friday evening picnic at the
Milwaukee Yacht Club was truly a night to remember.  Racine Riverside Marine was very generous with a savory
picnic including a souvenir basket even Martha would admire.  Mount Gay Rum gave us all a new delightful treat
with our choice of mango, vanilla or their great standard rum.  How fun is that?  Our gratitude goes out to Racine
Riverside Marine and Mount Gay Rum!!!
Saturday morning was full of learning and planning.  The day started out with Bill Helwig speaking about new boat
warrantees.  Many good ideas were explored, but documenting your issues in writing and keeping good records
would be a key to better warrantee service.  Thank you, Bill, for sharing what you have learned first hand!
Tony Henregues from Raymarine enlightened us with information about Raymarines’  E-System Radar.  The world
of sailing electronics changes very fast and we need to keep up with the latest technology.  Tony not only shared
his time and knowledge with us but he also gave away a remote control for an autopilot.  The BIG WINNER was….
Captain Gary Buckman of “Sail~A~Bration”!
The day continued on with sailboat captains planning post-rendezvous cruises and exploring Milwaukee with all it
has to offer.   Saturday evening we had the Deluxe Barbeque Dinner with EVERYTHING you can think of to delight
your palette.  Yum Yum!!!! Everybody was a winner of a door prize thanks to all the generous sponsors.  Our luck
continued as Saturday was Venetian Night with fireworks to end a fabulous time.
Sunday morning some sailboats stayed in Milwaukee for a little more vacation time.  Other boats took off for many
different ports of call or their home docks.
A wonderful event like this 13th Annual LMHSA Rendezvous takes a lot of planning and hard work.  Thank you to
everyone that helped in everyway.  Commodore Mike and MJ deserve a standing ovation!  You are awesome!
All the officers of our club really planned this very well and did an outstanding job.  Members put their talents together
to make this event go very well.  Our sponsors were very generous and let us all remember who supports us so well
when we are out shopping.
